In chinese region,a festival for the dead is held once a year on 15th of july(or on 14th in south of china) in chinese traditional calenda . for on this day,it is said that the dead are released from the hell and return to home if they have descendants.people fires some raw yellow paper as it is considered to send the dead money for buying food, and bless the dead will protect their descendants from ill and dangerous.
Some of the dead which have no descendants is believed to be wondering outside during this day, so people hold some religious ceremonies to condole with them to relieve their sadness and loneliness.
